Busitema University Gets New Chancellor

Busitema University has officially received a new Chancellor, following the appointment of Eng. Dr. Badru Kiggundu by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The confirmation was announced by the Chairperson of the Busitema University Council, Prof. William Bazeyo, who thanked the President for entrusting the institution with a seasoned leader.
“As the Chair of Busitema University Council, I would like to thank His Excellency for appointing the 3rd University Chancellor of the University, Eng. Dr. Badru Kiggundu,” Prof. Bazeyo stated.
He extended appreciation to the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni, for her support throughout the appointment process.
“I also sincerely appreciate and thank Maama for supporting this process. I wish to welcome and congratulate our new Chancellor, Eng. Dr. Kiggundu,” he added.
Eng. Dr. Kiggundu, a veteran engineer and former chairperson of the Electoral Commission, brings decades of public service experience and leadership to the institution. His appointment is expected to strengthen the university’s governance and strategic direction.
Busitema University, a public institution established in 2007, focuses heavily on science, engineering, agriculture, and technology programmes, serving as one of Uganda’s key centres for applied sciences.
